EPI Thailand Connect: ONEP moves forward to connect mechanisms to the area.

          On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Ms. Kanda Chookaew, Deputy Secretary General of Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), delegated Ms. Montana Siriwan, Director of Strategy and Planning Division, to preside over the opening of the meeting “EPI Thailand Connect: Linking Mechanisms to Local Areas.” The meeting aimed to convey the results of developing model knowledge practitioners in four pilot areas across seven regions by applying the DPSIR framework, using the EPI Thailand assessment results as a basis for analyzing issues and circumstances. The findings would then be used to prepare project proposals for addressing environmental problems in each area, as well as to provide a platform for exchanging information and fostering understanding regarding approaches to accessing funding sources, which are essential mechanisms to support agencies and relevant sectors in effectively and sustainably developing and implementing environmental projects. ONEP invited seven agencies with key roles in supporting budgets and/or research funding, including the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Program Management Unit on Area Based Development (PMU-A), Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI), Energy Conservation Fund Management Office (ECFMO) and Environmental Fund Administration Division ONEP.

          The meeting was attended by participants through the online meeting system (Zoom Cloud Meetings) from all sectors, including the government sector, the private sector, and civil society, both at the central and regional levels, totaling more than 200 individuals.
