The environmental performance index (EPI) is an indicator developed by Yale University and Columbia University have been used to assess the situation and performance in solving environmental problems. The indicator gives environmental scores and rankings to counties around the world. It has been published every two years since 2006. The composition, weighting and methodology of the assessment is changed depending on the environmental situation in which the world is interested.
The environmental performance index in the context of Thailand is an indicator selected to have a calculation format compatible with the national context. It is linked bto national policies and plans and is consistent with the global context. It can be used as information to assess the situation of sud-goals of the master plan.
