EPI Thailand Header Regional Level

The regional assessment of the Thailand Environmental Performance Index (EPI) encompasses the Central, Northeastern, Eastern, Western, and Southern regions. In this analysis, Bangkok and its vicinity—comprising Samut Prakan, Nonthaburi, and Pathum Thani—are categorized separately from the Central region due to their distinct geographical characteristics and environmental challenges.

The primary objective of developing the regional EPI Thailand is to empower regional and provincial authorities with a data-driven framework to guide strategic planning and project development. This enables agencies to address low-performing indicators with precision, serving as a vital mechanism for elevating the country’s environmental management toward long-term sustainability.

According to current regional data collection, 18 out of the 34 total EPI Thailand indicators are presently available at the local level. The project is prioritizing the presentation of these indicators to allow regional agencies to monitor performance, evaluate progress, and identify trends effectively. This information is instrumental in refining work plans, enhancing policy efficiency, and providing a clear, evidence-based justification for proposing flagship projects and securing budget allocations.
