On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Mr. Bannaruk Sermthong, Secretary General of Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), assigned Ms. Montana Siriwan, Director of Strategy and Planning Division, to open the meeting “ONEP collaborates with leading trainers to elevate EPI Thailand and generate results at the local level” under the project to Enhance the Environmental Performance Index Towards Environmental Governance. The meeting aimed to share 1) the (draft) action plan and approach for driving EPI Thailand at the regional level, 2) the (draft) local-level database system, 3) Thailand environmental performance index report, and 4) the outcomes of the first batch of Train the Trainer program to cultivate key experts for knowledge transfer, collaborative analysis, and environmental problem-solving. A total of 23 participants completed the training (22 from universities and 1 from the provincial office), and 9 project proposals were developed to support the improvement of EPI Thailand scores.
Participants joined the meeting at Asawin Grand Convention Hotel and online via Zoom Cloud Meetings from various sectors, including government, private sector, and civil society, both central and regional, totaling over 200 participants.
