         The ONEP is advancing the implementation of the Environmental Performance Index in the context of Thailand (EPI Thailand), positioning the education sector as the key partner to “enhance environmental quality and Thailand's Environmental Performance Index”

         On February 3, 2026, Ms. Kanda Chookaew, Deputy Secretary General of Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), met with Dr. Punpermsak Aruni, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), to discuss strategies for expanding outcomes and creating a participatory network to drive the Environmental Performance Index (EPI) in the context of Thailand (EPI Thailand). The discussion focused on enabling the education sector to play a role and participate in knowledge creation, human resource development, and promoting research and innovation that address environmental issues, thereby strengthening the management of the country’s natural resources and environment.
